Biloxi, Mississippi Great Family Vacation Spot

Need a great vacation spot for you and the family? Come to Biloxi, Mississippi! With a rich history, an engaging, exciting culture, and lots of fun for the whole family, everyone in your family will love your Biloxi vacation!

Biloxi has many historic buildings and landmarks, both in the historic district and throughout the rest of town. Take a charter boat to Fort Massachusetts on Gulf Island National Seashore. You and your family can enjoy free guided tours of this important historic fort, with history dating back to the War of 1812. Or relax on the white sand beach and even rent kayaks or jet skis! Walk or ride down the Pass Christian Scenic Drive Historic District, over 2 miles of road lined with dozens of historic buildings and beautiful live oak trees.

Visit Beauvoir, the home of Jefferson Davis, the first and only President of the Confederacy. The house has been fully restored to its condition when Jefferson Davis lived there, and features an open library, a full period rose garden, and 51 acres of land. You might even get to meet the great grandson to Jefferson Davis, who works on the grounds and commonly greets guests.

Go on a family fishing trip! Charter a boat or just fish off shore or a pier in fresh water to catch bass, perch, and catfish, or in salt water to catch Jack Crevalle, drum, and shark, or brackish water to catch a little bit of everything! Enjoy exploring the outdoors further with kayak tours and rentals and hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding! Biloxi is home to hundreds of species of colorful birds, reptiles, and other animals, including several threatened and endangered species. Take an eco-tour on the Tchoutacabouffa or Pascagoula River and enjoy exotic animals in very remote habitats at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, a nationally acclaimed children's museum.

Check out the Friendship live oak, a tree said to be 500 or more years old! At a height of 50 feet, and with nearly 16,000 square feet of coverage, the shade of this historic old tree is a great place to have a family picnic and throw a frisbee around!
